Restore Nature: Capital Architecture for Landscape-Scale Regeneration

Wed, 9 Sep 2026 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM SGT Lab 2
About this session

The biggest barrier to financing landscape regeneration is a lack of the right investment structures. Around the world, institutional investors, family offices and philanthropic organisations have significant capital available for long-term investments. However, existing financial models are often not designed to support the governance, timelines and shared outcomes that regenerative landscapes require.

This interactive workshop brings together investors, family offices, philanthropic organisations, development finance institutions and blended finance experts to explore how capital can be better aligned with landscape regeneration. Using real investment opportunities from three Indonesian landscapes, including forest and agriculture systems, island ecosystems and mixed rural landscapes, participants will work through practical examples rather than theoretical models.

The workshop concludes with a funders' roundtable, where participants move from discussion to action by identifying potential areas for collaboration, future investment and governance participation. The goal is to help shape practical financing models that can support landscape regeneration at scale while delivering long-term value for communities, nature and investors.
