Charlie Langdale

Charlie started his career in 1996 at Aon and joined Howden in 2002, where he helped grow the business from a small UK‑based company into a leading global insurance firm with 23,000 employees. Throughout his career at Howden, Charlie has built new teams and capabilities, pioneering ways for insurance to adapt to emerging global challenges.

Charlie is passionate about supporting those most affected by climate change, resulting in the creation of Humanity Insured, a UK‑ and US‑based charity backed by the insurance industry, other corporates, and philanthropy.

Humanity Insured exists to ensure that people living on the frontlines of climate change can plan, rebuild, recover, and thrive - not only after major disasters, but from the daily realities of unpredictable and shifting weather patterns. The charity now has more than 2 million beneficiaries worldwide, with an ambition to reach 30 million people by 2030.

Charlie currently serves as Humanity Insured’s Chief Executive.
