What kind of leaders and governance can hold the long horizon when short-term incentives pull the other way—and turn a week's proof into lasting coalitions?
Every preceding session produces something durable: a definition and a measure of value, a proof framework for carbon and nature, a toolkit of financing instruments. None of it sustains itself. A measurement standard can be quietly dropped; a fund can revert to extractive defaults; a restoration commitment can dissolve when the political wind shifts or the quarter turns. What holds the architecture together over the decades that regeneration requires is not another instrument. It is people, and the governance that protects their judgment from the short term.
This session closes the stream by attending to both. It takes up the formation of stewards — leaders who can hold ecological and generational time, and who decide from care rather than fear. It takes up governance built for the long horizon: legal structures that make a company accountable to more than its shareholders, and coalitions that turn isolated corporate commitments into shared business norms. Consciousness is upstream of capital; governance is upstream of how capital and carbon are held. The session then converts the stream's outputs into commitments that outlast the week — pledges, partnerships, and a shared sustainability and well-being measurement standard — following the arc the whole programme runs on: Convene → Align → Prototype → Coalition → Activate. A storyline that ends in applause has failed; one that ends in a coalition has begun.
