Sonia Tsao

Sonia is a Co-Founder and Partner at Canopy Generations Fund, an investing platform focused on driving and balancing global impact and strong risk-adjusted returns in the energy transition, digital infrastructure, and carbon markets.

As a 5th generation family principal of Tsao Pao Chee (TPC), Sonia shares in the belief that family businesses hold a unique opportunity to build a better future for generations to come.

Prior to founding Canopy Gen, Sonia spent a decade in early stage technology startups across mobile commerce and augmented reality. Through out her career, Sonia has focused on the intersection of East and West, working between California, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Sonia graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology and International Relations from Tufts University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Sonia is based in Los Angeles and Singapore, where she resides with her co-founder/ husband and three children.
