Asia's Energy Transition must address a fundamental challenge: how can we transition from coal fired power plants to clean, renewable energy?
Many of the solutions needed for a lower-carbon future already exist, but scaling them requires more than technology. It demands patient capital, trusted partnerships and a willingness to experiment. Family businesses and philanthropies are uniquely positioned to lead, combining long-term stewardship with the courage to test new models and learn together.
As a trusted convener, TPC Energy Transition brings together like-minded changemakers (i.e. purposeful family businesses, philanthropies, innovators and investors, etc.) to navigate the unknown together. The discussion will explore practical pathways for coal-to-clean transitions, including the early retirement of coal plants, their replacement with renewable energy, and the role of transition and carbon credits in supporting the journey. It will also examine how the monetisation of existing coal assets can help unlock capital for the next generation of sustainable infrastructure.
Together, these partnerships can accelerate practical solutions that create economic value, advance sustainability, and realise their founders' vision for future generations.
