For two decades, the global new-economy field has been carried primarily by European and North American actors, with the rest of the world enrolled rather than centred. This session opens a strategic conversation on transforming the global economic paradigm to align with planetary boundaries, human wellbeing and intergenerational fairness — grounded in real-world bright spots where a well-being economy is already visible, and building on decades of existing work rather than starting from scratch.
Two axes the field has been missing are now emerging. An East–West axis — Asian family-business stewardship in dialogue with European values-based leadership — is already in motion. A South–North axis — Australia and Asia together carrying the place-based, multi-generational architecture the new economy requires — has not yet been named.
