Stuart Gill

Dr Stuart Gill is Chair of SecondMuse Group and Global Head of Impact & Research. In this role, he oversees SecondMuse’s impact measurement and research and leads the development of its Relational Wealth Framework. He is a pioneer in applying a relational lens to economic development through finance, partnerships, and the acceleration of entrepreneurs and their businesses.

This approach is grounded in the belief that our greatest challenges, from climate change to children going hungry, are, at their core, relational problems that cannot be solved by working within our current paradigm. While we might live in a material world, he is most definitely a relational boy. That was a hard-won realisation and one he works daily to hold on to.

Before joining SecondMuse, Stuart founded the first innovation group at the World Bank and built public-private partnerships to address a spectrum of global challenges. Earlier in his career, Stuart taught and conducted research in the Department of Astrophysics at Columbia University in New York City.

Stuart’s true home is Wilsons Promontory National Park, at the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, where he spent over two years camping. He is a mad supporter of the Hawthorn Football Club and an even madder supporter of his wife and three kids. To his kids, Stuart is still the funniest person in the world, and he is enjoying every minute of that while it lasts.
