Mahendhiran Sanggaran Nair

Professor Mahendhiran Sanggaran Nair is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Sustainability) at Sunway University, with expertise in econometrics, data science, sustainable development, planetary health, and science & technology policy. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Fellow of CPA Australia, and serves on several national advisory bodies, including Malaysia’s National Science Council and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing. He is the architect of Malaysia’s 10 10 MySTIE Framework and the pioneer of the 8R–8I Nature-Centric Ecosystem Framework and the Return on Values (ROV) Framework. A respected adviser to government, industry, and community organisations, Professor Nair has contributed extensively to national and regional policies on innovation, sustainability, and economic development, and is widely recognised for advancing values-driven approaches to societal transformation and intergenerational prosperity.
