James Chen is a Hong Kong-based philanthropist and Chair of the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation. He is the Founder of Clearly, a global campaign whose advocacy was pivotal in encouraging the United Nations to adopt its first-ever resolution on vision in 2021, committing all 193 member states to universal vision correction by 2030. He previously founded Vision for a Nation Foundation, which transformed Rwanda into the first developing nation to provide universal eye care to its entire population. He is a third-generation member of the Chen family enterprise and an IAPB Global Ambassador. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Bath.
