Elaine Tan

Elaine Tan holds a leadership role as Research Director at the Centre for Liveable Cities, Singapore. She directs key portfolios in urban resilience, climate change, ageing, health, and social research, and has won both local and global awards as recognition of her impactful research. With her expertise, Elaine is appointed to serve on the esteemed Urban Land Institute (ULI) Singapore Executive Committee, Resilient Cities Network (RCN) Global Steering Committee, The Bay Awards Jury and The Earthshot Prize States and Cities Taskforce, where she provides insights and guidance on emergent urban trends and solutions around the world.

Elaine also held key positions at the Urban Redevelopment Authority as Director, Strategic Research and Director, Architecture & Urban Design Excellence. She was responsible for the founding and establishment of two high-profile global and national awards in Singapore - the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and the President’s Design Award. In 2024, Elaine was called upon once again to establish the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Network and Fellowships to amplify its global impact. Through her work, Elaine continues to drive innovation and excellence in urban development and research.
