David Steingard

Dr. David Steingard is the Head of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). A long-standing leader within the PRME community, he brings deep expertise in aligning responsible management education with business practice to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and beyond. His career reflects a sustained commitment to positioning business education as a force for good, translating the Principles of PRME into meaningful action across research, partnerships, teaching, and practice. Dr. Steingard spent over 25 years at Saint Joseph’s University, where he served on the faculty of the Leadership, Ethics, and Organizational Sustainability programme and as Director of the SDG Dashboard initiative at the Haub School of Business. He currently leads the AI and Research & Development (AIRD) Implementation Team under the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (UN HESI), as part of the Futures of Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence Action Group. His teaching and research focus on ethical leadership and the transformative role of business education in advancing social justice, sustainability, and human rights. His recent work explores the use of Artificial Intelligence to assess social and environmental impact, including the development of AI tools to measure SDG impact across institutions, research outputs, and academic journals. This work has been published in AI & Society, Journal of Social Impact in Business Research, Business and Society Review, and Learned Publishing. As Head of PRME, Dr. Steingard guides the initiative’s strategic direction, leads the PRME Secretariat team, strengthens global partnerships, and advances PRME’s mission worldwide.
