Bernise Ang

Bernise Ang is a practitioner and researcher working at the intersection of international development and complexity science. As Chief Alchemist at Zeroth Labs, she leads research in applied complexity science and advises multilateral and government institutions on applying systems approaches and strategic foresight to policy challenges. She led UNDP Asia Pacific’s first systems thinking initiative, advising the Bhutanese government on youth unemployment.

Her research examines stability and collapse in socio-technical systems through network science and other computational approaches from complexity science, which she also teaches at the National University of Singapore.

Previously Bernise worked in private equity and asset management, and co-founded Syinc, a youth nonprofit in Singapore. She is an Obama Scholar, Fellow at NUS, and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
