Healing Arts Singapore in Practice

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM SGT Lab 5

Health is shaped not only by how we eat and move, but by how we create and connect. Across Singapore, artists are showing why the arts should be recognised as a health behaviour.

About this session

Across Singapore, artists and cultural organisations are working alongside communities, health partners and funders to create new spaces for reflection, connection and care. Healing Arts Singapore in Practice brings this work into one shared experience, demonstrating how the arts can move from an inspiring idea into meaningful public health practice.

Through a series of short artist showcases and a moderated discussion, the session will explore the development and impact of the Healing Arts Singapore Artist Commissions, alongside the role of cultural institutions, artists and cross-sector partners in advancing arts and health. It will also introduce the next phase of the Healing Arts Singapore Pilot Projects, which will support locally led approaches across community, healthcare and cultural settings.

This session will introduce Healing Arts Singapore and demonstrate how artists, cultural organisations, health partners and communities are already putting arts-and-health practice into action. It will be discussion-led, supported by short experiential sound, music and visual examples of the Healing Arts Singapore Artist Commissions.

It will:

• Introduce Healing Arts Singapore and its wider aims.

• Platform selected work from the Healing Arts Singapore Artist Commissions.

• Introduce the Healing Arts Singapore Pilot Projects.

• Demonstrate the arts as both a health-promoting behaviour and a form of cultural infrastructure.
