The Leader You Already Are: Recovering the Capacity You Lead From at Your Best

About this session

Most leadership development starts on the outside, a governance structure, a succession plan, a set of tools, and only later asks who is holding them. This workshop starts on the inside. Every participant already knows, at some level, the values meant to guide their leadership, and most have felt, at least once, what it's like to lead fully from them. The goal isn't to teach something new. It's to recover the conditions that let that version of them show up, and to understand, honestly, why it doesn't happen more often. Facilitated by Britta Gruenig, the workshop moves through three connected pieces of work, values, obstacles, and practice, each building toward a personal stewardship map: a clear picture of what supports a person's fullest leadership, and what quietly erodes it. Each participant leaves with that map, and one concrete commitment to act on it.

Ground: A guided values exercise: meditation into each person's core values, tested with a partner, then checked across six areas of life (business, investments, philanthropy, advocacy, health, family) to see which values are actually shaping decisions.

Release: Naming what's in the way. Obstacles split into internal (habits, beliefs) and external (structures, expectations) — and, separately, into what's within a person's control and what isn't, so no one is asked to push against something only someone else can move.

Steward: Five Ways to Steward (front, back, side, field, within), offered not as new roles to adopt, but as language for the ways of leading each person has just recognized in themselves
