Virly Yuriken

Virly Yuriken is Chairperson of Misool Foundation, an Indonesian marine conservation organization and Wildlife Conservation Network Partner working in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua, one of the world’s most biodiverse coral reef ecosystems. Since joining the Foundation in 2018, she has led and supported programs spanning marine protection, community-based waste management, environmental education, species conservation, and sustainable livelihoods, working closely with local communities, government, conservation partners, and funders. With a background in psychology and 12 years of experience working with communities across Indonesia, Virly brings a behavioral and social perspective to marine conservation, with a focus on pro-environmental behavior, environmental education, and community engagement. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Psychology and Social Intervention at Universitas Indonesia and is a Kinship Conservation Fellow, Australia Awards Indonesia Climate Finance Short Course alumna, and YSEALI Fellow.
