Stijn De Lameilleure

Stijn De Lameillieure is Head of Private Sector and Foundations at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), based in Brussels. He leads GPE's engagement with the private sector and philanthropic foundations, helping mobilize business and foundation partnerships — such as matching funds, blended finance, and co-investment models — to strengthen education systems in lower-income countries.

Before joining GPE, Stijn worked as an education advisor and program manager with the European Commission, UNICEF, UNDP, UN-Habitat, and Save the Children, with field experience in Angola, Ecuador, and Brazil. He specializes in education in fragile and crisis-affected contexts, and holds a degree from the University of London. Over his time at GPE, he has helped shape flagship partnerships — including the private-sector response to Ukraine's education crisis (with Google, Microsoft, UNICEF and UNESCO), the GPE Match and Multiplier financing mechanisms, and collaborations with foundations like the Jacobs Foundation and Federer Foundation on public-private education financing in countries such as Côte d'Ivoire and Lesotho.
