Sindre Østgård

Sindre Østgård is a Partner at We Are Human (Co-Founders of Kahoot!) and sits on the Board of Stewards of 2050.do, as well as the Crown Prince of Norway Fund for Future Generations. He previously served as the Chair of Katapult Ocean over the past five years.

Sindre is a leader in the ocean economy and and impact investing innovator, member of Explorers Club and Co-Captain of EntrepeneurShipOne. He was board member of the billion player learning platform Kahoot – through 6 acquisitions and IPO in 2021, CEO of Tinius Foundation – owner of globally leading media- and marketplaces – Schibsted Group, Nordic Digital and European M&A for Discovery International, and Leader of the Digital transformation of NRK (Norwegian BBC), managing a 150+ people product and tech organisation, building next gen TV-, Audio-, News- platforms & one of the world’s leading Weather platforms.

Sindre has been co-founder of a dozen businesses, been part of investing and aligning 16 VC Funds, and participated in 100+ Direct investments. In addition to groundbreaking work in aligning companies and science with global venture capital space as co-founder of Align!, he has diverse experience in innovation, strategy, corporate value chain innovation and joint ventures. He has served on the boards of several ocean-based startup companies, including Coral Vita and Matter. Academic background; Bachelor in Entrepreneurship from Chaospilot University, Public and Private Law from University of Oslo, Degree in Conflict Mediation from OsloMet, Master course in Innovation & Leadership in Complex Systems at CBS, MBA from NHH with exchange programs with HEC (France) and NUS (Singapore).

Sindre is a passionate sailor, kite surfer, wing foiler & free diver – and swims in the ocean anywhere – year round.
