Biography

Birdseye Climate (previously Energy CoLab) is a Singapore-based organisation advancing just energy futures in Southeast Asia through education, research-driven advocacy, and resourcing frontline communities.

Rachel co-founded Birdseye Climate in 2022 to tackle energy blindness โ€” the widespread lack of public understanding around the social and environmental impacts of energy transition projects in Southeast Asia. Over the past three years, the team has designed and delivered impactful learning experiences for youth, students, and educators across Singapore, building awareness of their role in shaping a just energy transition.

Today, Birdseye Climate's shift towards advocacy recognises a critical gap between ambitious climate targets and effective, responsible policy pathways needed to achieve them, grounded in the realities of communities across the region. Current focus areas include strengthening carbon tax policy, greenwashing safeguards and corporate accountability.
