Biography

Paul Tan is Chief Executive Officer at the Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS), a charitable intermediary under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). The non-profit empowers donors to fulfil their philanthropic purpose, working with Singapore’s diverse charities and creating communities that care and thrive. Annually, CFS disburses over $20 million to Singapore’s charities from the 300 Donor-Advised Funds which it stewards.

He joined CFS in August 2024 and assumed the leadership role in April 2025.

Paul’s previous role was Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the National Arts Council (NAC), which champions the arts by nurturing creative excellence and supporting broad audience engagement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked on the Arts and Culture Resilience Package to support livelihoods in the sector. For this, he was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze).

He has served on numerous boards of arts companies, including STPI, The Arts House Ltd, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Group and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. He currently volunteers on the sub committees of the Trailblazer Foundation and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
