Kristian Steele

Kristian is a civil engineer with a doctorate in environmental technologies, he is a Chartered Environmentalist with a history in systems analysis and environmental impact assessment modelling. Kristian leads Arup’s Southeast Asia Climate and Sustainability Services. Based in Singapore, his regional team of climate and sustainability specialists contributes to a broad programme on climate resilience and adaptation, decarbonisation, biodiversity and nature, circular economy, social value and equity, amongst others.

Kristian’s technical focus is to climate change related work including the leadership of many teams on climate risk assessment and resilience planning in large scale infrastructure and development. More generally his work has been used to inform policy and strategy advice, guide development planning and design, advise Governments, cities, sectors and organisations, as well as support product development programmes.
