James Ong

Dr. James Ong, with 4 decades in industry, venture, and academia, founded AIII in 2017 to advocate Sustainable AI for Humanity and co-authored “AI for Humanity” by Wiley and “人本人工智能” by 中国人民大学出版社.

James champions AI for Humanity as UN SDG 18, serves as expert at UNESCO and UNU, works with various UN organisations. He actively advocates AI for Humanity globally across Davos, ASEAN, China, India, the US, Middle East, and ANZ. He serves World AI Conference (WAIC) as international advisor, founded the AI for Humanity Forum, and co-founded AICON to advocate “AI for Everyone”.

Academically, James is Adjunct Professor at SUTD, chairs SUSS's Master of AI advisory, lectures at top universities, and co-founded AI Leadership Union (AILU) with INSEAD as academic partner.

In industry, James is Industry Fellow and Head of AI at Global Fintech Institute (GFI), Senior Fellow at Teh Conference Board (TCB), and serves on ASEAN CXO Association (ACXOA)'s wisdom council on AI and Robotics and Singapore Champion. He is CEO of Origami Frontiers and Venture Partner at Delight Capital. He holds a PhD in AI for Computational Governance from UT Austin.
