Eileen Chong

Eileen is the Lead for Insights and Innovation at Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), where she builds communities of learning among funders on the interconnected issues shaping children and young people's lives: early childhood development, education, and mental wellbeing.

A former Singapore diplomat, she brings deep experience working with governments across Asia and is interested in what is possible when philanthropy and public policy work in complement. Philanthropy can take risks and try things at a scale that eventually shifts systems — but rarely on its own, and rarely without governments and local communities pulling in the same direction. Eileen also sits on the policy side of the equation as a Non-Constituency Member of the 15th Singapore Parliament
