Bjorn Low

Bjorn Low is the Co-Founder and Chief Urban Farmer of Edible Garden City, a Singapore-based social enterprise that has spent over a decade reimagining the role of food in cities. His work sits at the intersection of urban agriculture, landscape, community development and food systems, exploring how cities can become more productive, resilient and connected through food.

Bjorn holds a PhD from RMIT University, where his research explored urban food sovereignty and regenerative agrarian dynamics in Singapore. His practice-led research builds on more than a decade of experience developing urban farms, edible landscapes, community food programmes and nature-based growing systems across Singapore. He is also a lecturer at the National University of Singapore’s School of Architecture, where he teaches urban food systems within the Master of Sustainable Design programme.

Through Edible Garden City, Bjorn continues to explore new models for integrating food production into the everyday fabric of the city—from rooftop farms and productive landscapes to community food systems and regenerative urban agriculture. His current work focuses on shifting urban agriculture beyond food production alone, positioning productive landscapes as infrastructure for food resilience, biodiversity, education, wellbeing and stronger communities.
