Biography

Angain leads GIFT’s ecosystem-building and strategic engagement efforts in Singapore, working across government ministries and agencies, think tanks, enterprises and technology companies. His role involves developing high-level partnerships, connecting stakeholders across sectors and identifying opportunities for collaboration around leadership, policy and regional transformation.

He specialises in geopolitical analysis and Southeast Asian affairs, with a particular focus on power politics, regional order and the forces shaping the region’s political and economic trajectory. He brings a multidisciplinary perspective spanning policy, business and communications, enabling him to interpret complex developments, connect wider geopolitical shifts to institutional priorities and engage senior stakeholders on strategic issues.

Previously, Angain worked as a journalist covering Southeast Asian geopolitics, technology, business and environmental issues. He also served as a policy and communications consultant to several Malaysian government ministries, advising on agriculture, healthcare and e-commerce.

He holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Nottingham and is currently pursuing a PhD at Universiti Malaya.
