Southeast Asia Premiere: 'How to Live on Earth'

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM SGT Forum 1

If we accept that Earth is one living system, then why are our economies still designed as if it isn’t?

About this session

How to Live on Earth is a visionary feature documentary from Open Planet Studios, in association with the Villars Institute Foundation and Silvania. This special screening is supported by Mercuria and Standard Chartered.

Presented by Benedict Cumberbatch, the film explores humanity's vital connection to nature and the role it plays in shaping our future. Through inspiring stories, groundbreaking innovation and stunning cinematography from around the world, it reveals how people are working with nature to address some of the greatest challenges of our time—from climate and biodiversity to food and finance.

Directed by Fredi Devas and produced by Jonnie Hughes, the documentary features leading voices including climate justice activist Xiye Bastida, former White House Chef and food entrepreneur Sam Kass, and field biologist Dan O'Neill.

Launching globally on YouTube this September, How to Live on Earth presents a hopeful vision of a future within reach—one in which nature thrives, and so do we.
